We all scream...

So I went to New York and wandered around Soho with my family today. We ended up at some crowded over priced chic little cafe. It really was not worth the cost, but we were hungry and tired and it was there and had seats for all of us, so we went. I was slightly an asshole to my cousin. He's not so good at dealing with other people, which is not his fault, but I can't deal with it sometimes. He doesn't understand that everyone doesn't want to do the same things he wants to do and he gets kind of rude when that happens. When we were sitting at lunch he asked me if I wanted to read some of his Encyclopedia Brown books, and when I said no, he said, "Why not? You just want to sit and blabblabblabblab?" And later he was sitting with his elbow on the table, pretty much completely on top of my silverware and when I asked him to move his arm he said "Why?" and I went "'Cause your elbow's in my face" and demonstrated by sticking my elbow right in front of him, hoping he would laugh and get the point. And while he did laugh a little, he proceeded to put his elbow right back until his mother pulled him upright. Then when it was time for my parents and I to leave he just kept saying "Time for ice cream!" and when I said, "No, we have to leave, bye sweetie" he just kept screaming "Ice cream! Ice cream!" at us.

Oh well. I fear he is one of those kids that you knew in 8th grade who still acted like he was in 4th. And there's nothing I can do about it, so he's gonna get teased and at the same time, I have a hard time dealing with him as well.

Must go....do...things....bye bye.

P.S. The picture of the guys on the beam a couple of posts down is from today in NY. Whee.

Sweet Charity

Charity of the month (May):

Alzheimer's Association

You all know about my grandma and how she's..y'know..not so much right in the head anymore. She doesn't have alzheimer's, but she's got dementia, and y'know what? It's close enough. And I bet if they can find a way to help people with Alzheimer's, it might help her, too. So yeah. Go research!

So are you gonna do something good for someone this month? Huuuuh? You should do something nice. Even if it's just making someone smile. Go for it, you'll be glad you did.

K, just wanted to say that, now I gotta go. ;-)

Velma just picked up dry ice with her bare hands. You don't do that you stupid fuck! It'll stick to you and freeze your skin off! Dumb bitch, you're supposed to be brainy! Why else would they make you so unattractive?!

....speaking of which, why the hell am I watching Scooby Doo?

Adventures in Video Sales

1.The other day this kid I work with brought his little dog in while his mom was food shopping. It was fine hanging with us while we did our work and was all cute and tiny...until it pissed on the rug. I told the kid to take him outside since he was kind of acting like he still had to go....did the kid listen to me? No. And you know what happened? The damn dog took a shit on the rug while I was helping a customer. And you can be damn sure I was NOT the one cleaning up that mess.

2.I still don't understand why people RENT porn. It's community porn! Do you know how many people before you have jerked off to that exact video tape and then put it back in the case without washing their hands?! That is the reason I go to great lengths not to actually have to touch the tapes...and if I do have to, I wash my hands immediately or use a lot of hand sanitizer. And you know what I find especially odd? Guys who don't even rewind their porn and it's just stopped in the middle of the tape. What the fuck was going on that you had to stop mid-tape and couldn't even bother to rewind it?

3.The other day some kid was walking past, saw the Harry Potter poster and screamed in a really bad English accent "It's Harry Puuuttaahhh". In response to this I immediately fell to the floor laughing hysterically. And I do mean that literally. I was in the middle of picking up movies from the return box when it happened so I just sat and hid so the kid wouldn't see me laughing my ass off at him.

4.One day a man came into the store on a busy day and during one of those nice little moments of silence let one rip. And it was LOUD. No one said anything, we all did a very good job of pretending nothing had happened, but everyone knew it was him. The worst thing was that he just kept farting repeatedly. And as I am four years old, farting really makes me laugh. A lot. I was putting movies away and trying really hard to keep from exploding with laughter. When we told Kaity about it later I started laughing so hard I couldn't breathe.

My computer is now beyond fucked up. Seriously. And I think I'm making it worse whenever I try to fix it. Aaaahhh.

I think I might just try and wipe the memory and reinstall everything, hopefully that will work?

::cries::

I haven't updated in a little while, but I have to go to bed, so I'll just leave you with this for now.

A dog pooped in the store yesterday.

That is all. Later, loves.

WarnerFUCKINGBITCHASSBrothers

Dear WB,

I hate you with a raging vengence. You advertise some huge big old thing happening at the very end of the Gilmore Girls season finale, but forget to mention that the show is running over the scheduled hour?!

Linda and I were sitting happily enjoying Gilmore Girls last night, and right at the very end before we see who proposes (as the promos promised) THE FUCKING TIVO CUT OFF!!!! DAMN YOU, WB!!! WHY DON'T YOU FUCKING WARN PEOPLE YOU DUMB BASTARDS!!

I'm sure Tivo viewers/people who taped the show are completely sharing my pain. You should have heard the screaming that went on last night when that episode cut off. Mostly by me. And there might have been some running to my father going "Fixitfixitfixit!".

Like I said. Fuck you, WB. With a sharp, pointy stick.

All my love..no fuck that, all of my MASSIVE HATRED,
Robin

I swear I'm not a 13 year old girl...

Sit right down and write myself a letter...

I don't know why, but recently I really like cooking stuff. And I don't know how to make much nor do I really know if I'm very good at cooking, but I like making my own dinner all by myself and setting it out and eating it and it just gives me a very nice feeling, even if it's just some pasta or some scrambled eggs. I just had some pasta and some tea and I still feel all happy about it even though all I had to do really was boil water, heh.

I need some nice pretty pictures I can use as a desktop since my computer got erased. So if anyone has any ideas of what I should use, lemme know. Currenly I'm using a picture off Exploding Dog which is an awesome site, in case you were unaware.

...spaz

What Miles should probably do with his life: Write music reviews.

I need a good book and a nice beach to lay on while reading said good book. And good music to listen to while I read my good book on the nice beach.

Also, I'd like my computer back. As of today, Gateway says 3-5 business days. Wahoo.

I got an A- on my directing final. Yay. Love me.

I feel really blah this week, I don't really know why. It's not very fun.

The Saga Continues...

So I called Gateway again. I wanted status on my computer, and, would you look at that, they completely forgot they said they'd fix it!

Little fuckers.

They said the status has not changed, the computer is still on a hold, and they're still trying to charge me over $600 for it's repair.

So after some yelling and a scathing e-mail to customer service, I told them they have two days to get their shit together before I call the Better Business Bureau and get them on their asses since they've now been holding onto my property for nearly three weeks and not doing a damn thing to fix it. They e-mailed me back already, but only saying the same old shit they'd been saying before how the motherboard needs replacing and the regular warranty doesn't cover the motherboard (which is absolute bullshit, btw, a warranty that doesn't cover the motherboard isn't worth shit). I wrote them back saying "Yeah, I know, but I have the extra warranty, the motherboard is covered, so fix the damn thing motherfucker."

But in much more civil terms.

Plus, I just found a copy of my warranty on their website. And in plain English it says Gateway will fix my shit if it breaks. Seriously, by the time I get the damn thing back it'll be completely obsolete.

Grrrrrr.

Now where am I going to get my next computer from? Hopefully I'll get my computer back and it'll last awhile longer and when I need a new computer again....lord knows where I'll get it from. I'm running out of companies that I don't hate. Grr.

Lady by my side...

Josh came home today. Hoorah!

We were lying on the couch watching TV when the kitty came over and started nudging him to pet her.

Robin: Now you got a lady on each arm.
Josh: Yeah, one's really furry.
Robin: And the other one's a cat.
Josh: ...
Josh: I was gonna say that but I didn't want to get hurt.

Oh, we are so amusing.

In the corners of my miiiiind....

I think I'm gettin' a little bit sick of that picture of me on my page. It's all dramatic and seriousy. Plus my hair is way longer now. I can do that whole sultry sexy thing. Or I could just put up a picture of me like..picking my nose or something...I dunno.

I am having such a craving for entenmann's doughnuts. The chocolate covered kind. I love how they're not really doughnuts, they're just like...cake...in doughnut shape.

Anyway...mmm...doughnuts.

I missed the new Family Guy 'cause I was working and forgot to do the TiVo thing. Damnit. Oh well.

As said to my father last night on the way into Temple:

"I need to do laundry so I can wear underwear that doesn't totally give me a wedgie."

And that makes me remember how one time I went to a Yankee game with my friend Melissa and some of her friends and one of them (and I remember exactly who but won't write it here to avoid anyone suing me) was completely obsessed with wedgies. And we were on the subway and there was some guy with this MASSIVE wedgie and she really wanted to go tell him about it. Or pick it or something 'cause it was seriously bothering her.

Oh, memories....

"Now Don't Quote Me on This..."

Here I am.

K, so here's what's up lately. My computer is being held hostage by Gateway. Last week my computer went all whack job on me and when I called to find out about having it fixed they told me I had over a year left on my warranty. Cool. I sent it in last Saturday and called yesterday to find out if it was fixed yet. Only problem is, they haven't even started fixing it and there's a hold on it because they claim the damage was "customer induced". Customer induced my ass. I'm nice to my computer, I don't throw it around or leave it on a radiator or let my cat pee on it. So this is annoying, partly 'cause I want my computer back and partly 'cause I don't want to have to pay to get my computer back. Plus there's double aggravation over the fact that no one contacted me to tell me my computer was on a hold, so if I hadn't called in to check, who knows how long it would be sitting there having nothing done to repair it.

Anyway, after many a phone call to both customer service and tech support, I found out some more details. My computer has a cracked base and cover, a cracked LCD bezel (not sure what that is, but it's requiring them to replace the entire screen), a broken latch, a damaged motherboard (which is desperately important as it's pretty much the whole system), a broken power connector, and damaged hinges. Pretty. And to repair all of this they're trying to charge me upwards of $600. Whaaat?! I told them I had a warranty (which I keep wanting to spell "warantee" for some reason?) and that wtf, why is nothing covered by the warranty. Here's how the conversation went:

Customer Service Lady: The warranty doesn't cover the motherboard.
Robin: But...the computer won't work without the motherboard...
Customer Service Lady: It also doesn't cover the LCD screen.
Robin: The motherboard AND the screen aren't covered? But that's practically the entire computer! What good is the warranty if it doesn't cover anything I actually need?!
Customer Service Lady: The warranty covers "parts".
Robin: Parts?! Well what exactly do you mean by parts because isn't the motherboard a part?

After this she told me to check the Gateway website for all the things the warranty includes. Now c'mon lady, I'm lucky that my parents have a computer they let me use, but if you guys have my very dead computer all the way in Texas why are you assuming I have any means of getting to the damn website.

But today, I finally had a small victory (I hope). One of the people I talked to told me more about my warranty, including the fact that I have this nice little extra warranty thing called accidental damage protection which pretty much covers anything I could have done to it short of throw it out a window. Which I did not. So after a few more phone calls and a few more times reminding them that, yes, I have the extra warranty and, yes, I actually know about the extra warranty and you can't screw me out of my money by hoping I'm completely ignorant....I'll be hearing from them within the next three business days. Grr. But better than nothing, hopefully this time they'll go "Oh, wait, we're fuckers, let us fix your computer for free like we're supposed to".

Other than that, I'm tired and not looking forward to school tomorrow. I always hate going back to school after being sick, I feel so behind, and it's usually because I am. Plus I know some people will be completely in my business "Where were you? Why were you sick? What was wrong? What's your social security number and mother's maiden name?" I was sick, drop it, there is no need for a grand jury investigation. But mostly, I'm really not prepared to do a scene in directing tomorrow (haven't seen actors seeing as I've been in bed most of the week) and it's an extended class specifically so everyone CAN do their scene. Sigh. Maybe we can wing it? Heh, I said wing it...I don't know why that's funny...

Bye for now.
