Robin's making up words again...

Yesterday I walked into a store in the Short Hills mall and had what I can only describe as a clothesgasm. They had the most fantastic, beautiful clothes I had ever seen, and I wanted all of them....not really. The store had clothes, plates, lots of things, all of them were completely lovely. I would want to get a job there, although I'm a bit nervous that I would constantly be overwhelmed by the prettiness.

I also have an idea of a cool shirt to make....and perhaps I will make it....ladida....

Some assembly required

So here's something. My cat may not know the difference between an electrical socket and her litter box. Hell, she may not know the difference between ME and her litter box. But she knows not to follow people into the bathroom....she'll chase my ankles all over the house, but I step one foot into the bathroom and she stops in her tracks. Say whatever you want about not knowing where her own bathroom is, but don't ever say my kitty doesn't have good manners.

Also, my lovely friend Alicia imed me last week while I was away to tell me she was in love with the picture on my blog. I <3 Alicia. I didn't get to say thank you to her 'cause she is rarely online. So if you are reading this Alicia, thank you. And you're pretty.

My new desk came today. Whee.

Haven't I seen this video before?

Actual update! Whee!!

So I have a delayed opening today. School doesn't start till 11. Whee. Although that's right in the middle of where my first class is supposed to be so I don't know what's gonna happen with that. It's my acting class that got turned into a directing class 'cause the school was all "You can't have a class with only 7 people in it!" and shoved us in with the directing class, which also only had about 7 people in it. Not fair! You can totally have a class with 7 people! We did it with less last semester!! Boo, school, boo.

Oh well. Directing seems kinda interesting, but I was looking forward to the acting stuff. I still get to act, I guess, but it's not the same. The teacher's not going to be commenting on my acting really so much as what the director did, so....we'll see. It could still be interesting.

Anyway, my whole family stayed home all weekend, save for little trips out for shopping/grandma care. Everyone's still sick, but feeling much better than we have been. Lets hope we all get even better. My mom just totally overshared about a nose blowing experience...I'll save you the pain of hearing about it. ::shudder:: I'm gonna be thinking about that all day now...nasty! But right, yesterday was my dad's birthday. I feel bad, he got no presents since my mom and I have both been inside all week due to the sick thing. My mom did make him a pretty fantastic cake though. Mm, yummy.

K, I'm off. Desperetely in need of a shower. Adios.

I just had this random desire to go back to the Dominican Republic. Don't ask me why. But it'd be nice to go back there someday, it's beautiful. I just will have to remember to wear a ton of really good sunscreen.

Did everything just taste purple for a second?

For future reference:

Two capsules of dayquill is TOO MUCH for a person of my size.

I feel SOOO weird.

::watches hand for half an hour::

Anyone want to take a guess at the origin of the title "Who Do You Work For?"

Linda is not allowed to answer 'cause I just told her. :-)

Quarentine Day 2 (but not really)

My mom got me vitamin C GUMMY BEARS.

I <3 my mom.

So, I just have some kind of cold. My dad has pneumonia. And my mom has asthmatic broncitis.

I live in a petri dish.

Sick. Fever. 100.00 degrees. Can't manage to swallow tylenol. Very uncomfortable. Going to try and sleep and hope it makes the feel badness go away.

Flutter-phobia

Yeah, so anyone who made fun of me for my irrational fear of butterflies can shove it...'cause I'm not the only one! Nicole Kidman's afraid of them, too!!! From IMDB.com:

Movie star Nicole Kidman has a bizarre fear of butterflies she can't overcome. The Cold Mountain actress developed the terrifying phobia when she was a child in Australia and despite endless attempts to shake off the problem, she still can't stand the pretty insects. She reveals, "Sometimes when I would come home from school the biggest butterfly or moth you'd ever seen would be just sitting on our front gate. I would climb over the fence, crawl around to the side of the house - anything to avoid having to go through the front gate. I have tried to get over it (the phobia) I walked into the big butterfly cage at the American Museum of Natural History and had the butterflies on me, but that didn't work. I jump out of planes, I could be covered in cockroaches, I do all sorts of things, but I just don't like the feel of butterflies' bodies."

Yeah, so my entire family, including myself is now officially down for the count with this cold. :-(

So now my dad is saying he doesn't feel very well either...um....is this reminding anyone else of a Clarissa Explains It All episode?

Brave brave Sir Robin...

Still can't sleep...so I decided at about 5 that I felt like getting up and taking a nice hot shower 'cause it's coooold. And a shower might make me feel less weird. So I did, and it was nice, but now I'd like to put on some nice clean clothes....unfortunetely all my clean underwear...in the basement.

That wouldn't be too much of an issue if my dad hadn't decided to sleep on the couch to try and avoid getting whatever my mom has...and I've already woken him up twice going downstairs.

So...looks like I won't have underwear for awhile. Alas. I am pantsless Robin.

Don't know what to say....

So I have this kind of resolution to try and read 50 books in a year. Except now I'm stuck on this book that seems really long and I don't like all that much. I mean, it's not horrible, but not fantastic. And it's completely slowing me down. But I feel like if I start a book I HAVE to finish it, otherwise I'm messing up my streak.

......

I am SUCH a freakin' nerd.

Also, I fell asleep reading this book at like 11:45 and woke up later thinking I'd slept most of the night...except it was only 1:45. Sigh. Now I'm wide awake and having that insomnia feeling that I hate where I'm all kind of achey and itching to do something but it's the middle of the night and so I'm stuck in my room feeling all twitchy. Oh well. Once when I was little I had some kind of virus and it kept me awake all night for like three nights...it was in February, I remember 'cause the Olympics were on in Japan. And I remember feeling like the night was unbearably long and I desperately wanted sunlight and for it just to be daytime so people would be awake because I was lonely. Sigh.

My Mom is sick and I was snarky about her on my blog before 'cause I was annoyed at her, but that was mean so I deleted it. And now I just want her to get better 'cause I feel bad for her, she feels really crappy. Poor Mommy.

I love the Jet song "Look What You've Done", but I can't watch the video. It terrifies me and makes me need to hug my teddy bear because it's like the forest in Snow White gone psychotically evil. Cant...deal....poor little bunnies...!!! ::sniffle::

Robin + Boredom + Paint = DRESSER OF AWESOMENESS Posted by Hello

See the pretty little stars? That was all me, baby. Painted them on FREE HAND. People should not let me near paint when I'm bored. Seriously. My dresser is now space-ified.

Kids songs are EEEVIL

Okay, so wait...that song "It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring he went to bed and bumped his head and couldn't get up in the morning"

I just actually thought about the lyrics there....did the old man DIE?! Or fall into some coma?! What a depressing song! Poor old man.....maybe he just was really tired and slept all the way through till the afternoon....yeah...that's what happened....shhh...don't ruin my pretty mental pictures....

Went to bed and bumped his head....

This ak dude gave me a way awesome nickname of Jerz. Blogger is cool 'cause now I get nifty nicknames...

Also, I slept like two hours last night due to my stomach whatever it was recurring. :-( Feeling kinda better now, though, lets hope it stays that way.

These storms are CRAZY. I like rain, but this is slightly nuts. Mostly the fact that it was 60 yesterday! What? That's kinda scary....earth quakes, tsunamis, volcanos....and 60 in January in Jersey. Maybe mother nature is having a tummy ache, too.

I registered for classes yesterday...mostly....stupid SFT never sent my transcripts to school so they won't let me sign up for Acting 4...despite my rockin' out in Acting 3. So now I'm going to have to bring my own copy of my transcripts (hooray for room cleaning, I find lots of useful things) to the first day of class and hope the teacher lets me in.

And I do believe I was mistaken to blame JJ Abrams for screwing up my TV schedule. It was ABC's fault in reality, they mess up the timing by trying to squeeze more ads in since the show is so popular. Little bastards. We should have some kind of mailing campaign....but I wouldn't know what to mail besides an angry letter. I mean something like when people mailed Bush bags of pretzels (which I hope he gave to a soup kitchen or something 'cause that must of been a hell of a lot of pretzels...dumb bastard).

Anyway, in conclusion...I need a job. 'Cause I'm mad broke. I just said mad. Hehe. I so need some sleep. Bye.

Crank

Dear J.J. Abrams,

Would you PLEASE stop fuckin' around with the tv schedule and making Lost run just a few tiny minutes after 9 so that I can't TiVo it without NOT TiVoing West Wing and now I ALWAYS miss the first few minutes of West Wing where inevitably something happens that they make reference to for the ENTIRE episode, if not longer. Boooooo Abrams. Boooooooo.

All my love,
Robin

Random like whoa

QotD

Alex Trebek: This piece of furniture is also the name of a person on a play set that helps with costumes...*
J: Armoir...?
R: (at same time) Dresser!
(pause)
R: Armoir?!?! ::nearly falls off couch with laughter::

*or something like that, I don't remember exactly what it was

Psha, you say?

For some reason I woke up around 9:30 this morning and can not get back to sleep. So I ended up watching some Sesame Street. And do you know what happened?

Grover said PSHA.

Seriously.

I nearly had a fit. It was great!

It smells like buuuurning....

So if one day you're kinda bored. And you get some piece of useless garbage in the mail...and you decide to light it on fire for the hell of it....make sure you open a window first*.

My room smells like Colin Firth*. Blech.

*Pyyyyrooooo. But I had it in a little ceramic bowl with a big bottle of water next to me. Oh, like you've never set junk mail on fire before!

*EDIT: Oops...I mean Colin FARRELL. Colin FARRELL.

February Smith

The chick who plays Michelle's sister in American Wedding's real name is January Jones. Is that not a cool name, or what?

Monday, January 03, 2005

"Good morning, Appalachia, I got a mighty cute sister and an extra set of toes."

So today (or yesterday, technically), I met this cousin I didn't know I had until last summer and his wife. He's like my third cousin something removed or I don't know what (he's also old enough to be my grandfather, heh), and he seems like a really cool guy. See, awhile back I posted on some ancestry site about looking for people in my grandmother's family (she has a really rare maiden name and pretty much anyone with that last name is related to us, probably) and one day this summer I got an answer from this woman and now we have a ton of new cousins we never knew about. My grandmother went to meet a bunch of them, and this guy is from Connecticut so he and his wife came to my grandmother's for brunch today.

He brought this family tree he'd been working on with him...it's HUGE. It went across like three or four pages taped together. And I found out that there was some gross intermarriaging going on in my family...lovely...nobody I'm directly descended from that I know of, so that's good. I'd hate to have three eyed babies just 'cause my great great grandfather thought his cousin was mighty purdy....I shouldn't make fun of my relatives...I'm totally going to hell.

But anyway. Yeah, I know all this stuff about my family now! And that's only like one quarter of my family....crazy. My cousin also had a whole bunch of stories about people in our family. And I think show business runs in that family or something 'cause there were all these people who were like pianists or actresses or singers or radio announcers. Pretty cool. And I can trace part of my family back all the way to the beginning of the 19th century now, maybe farther! Yeah, I'm way too excited about it, hehe. And my cousin and his wife are way cool and I hope I get to see them again.

And now I should definitely try to go to bed. Hope you're all having a good new year so far. :-D

Adios for now muchachos.
